Barry is an innovation manager with 30yrs in the food manufacturing industry and has held senior technical, innovation and commercial leadership roles in companies with key food manufacturing companies in Australia. An inventor by nature, Barry has created new products & processes for domestic, Foodservice and export markets, while leading innovation culture development within companies. While a member of a range of national advisory teams, Barry is now leading initiatives to strengthen the Australian innovation culture and capability to help companies find increased success both domestically and overseas and better connect the Australian research and manufacturing sectors.
George Peppou
CEO & Founder, Vow
George Peppou is the CEO and Co-Founder of Vow, Australia’s first cell-based meat company. Vow is making sustainability irresistible with cultured meat, inventing new products by growing the cells of animals rather than the animals themselves. Manager, Central Coast Food Alliance & Projects
25 years of Food Industry experience, spanning retail operations with Woolworths & multiple careers with Mars Food Australia including Key Account Management, Category Management, Pricing & Promotion Strategy, Front-End Innovation and leading the Seeds of Change Start-up Accelerator program. In 2020, Alex joined Central Coast Industry Connect (CCIC), a not-for-profit industry organisation for the Advanced Manufacturing sector on the NSW Central Coast. Alex is responsible for designing and delivering activities which help build industry capability and foster connections between industry, government and researchers. Alex manages the operations of the Central Coast Food Alliance, an Agri-Food industry cluster established in 2018 with funding from Food Innovation Australia Limited (FIAL). The ‘Food Alliance’ supports the capability and connectedness of a diverse group of Central Coast-based food and beverage producers.
