Transforming Australia's Food and Agribusiness Industry
For the past four years, FIAL has been working to better understand the culture and the underlying beliefs of decision-makers, with the aim of supporting and improving innovation practices within the food and agribusiness sector. The initial findings were presented to over 50 industry leaders who explored ways to address the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. One of the key themes identified was the need for greater leadership across the sector- the capacity for people to guide and influence others to strive towards a common purpose for greater impact. This capability is required at all levels of an organisation: from a technical person in a laboratory to middle managers leading an organisational function such as IT, and to managing directors who have oversight for the strategic direction of an entity. In response to this capability gap, FIAL designed and piloted a leadership program for the food and agribusiness industry.
